Painting Party!

Painting Party! Thanks to the help of my old roomies,
we got A LOT done and had a great time!
Hello Friends!

The adventures continue down on the farm.

I’m on my way to work in the farm house so I thought I would just give a quick update with some pictures.

House Update: A few weeks ago my old roommates came to help us prime the bedrooms upstairs. We had a ton of fun watching something as simple as primer transform the house!

In more recent news, we’re VERY close to priming the rest of the house! After endless days of eternal Sheetrock mudding to try and fix all the old walls, Will, Cub, Jonathan and I sprayed knockdown on the ceilings in the kitchen, living room and the pantry walls in preparation for primer and paint down stairs. I can't tell you how.....explosive.... splattering sheet rock mud on the ceiling can be. In all of our efforts to try and keep our work areas clean and orderly, I had to laugh as we took cover and BLASTED the entire downstairs with projectile sheetrock mud. It was a riot. Knockdown is also very forgiving and it has made the ceilings (which already looked great) beautiful! I can’t wait to get the ceiling painted to see what it looks like! We’re still laboring (but getting closer) to picking out paint colors for the house. We buckled down and decided on bathroom and bedroom colors. Kitchen colors are soon to follow. I’ll send pictures as we get the color on the walls!

Now that we have most of the mudding done (just a little sanding left on the walls) we are focusing on putting in the upstairs bathroom and the kitchen. I can’t believe we’re actually starting to put things back together now! So exciting!

Youth Group: We had a blast during our youth group progressive supper earlier this month. We sure enjoy hanging out with the youth. They are a great bunch of people. Highlights of the progressive supper included great food, lots of laughs, fun games, and gift wrapping two live chickens. :)

Thailand: We’ve been accepted and we’re shopping for plane tickets! We can hardly believe it, but we’re planning to leave the end of January and be teaching February-early April. We’re so excited to see what God has planned for us in this new chapter of our farm adventure

Hope you all are adequately enjoying the Christmas season!

Splattering the walls in the pantry. What a riot.

Silly day-light-savings time was NOT invented by farmers.
I got the last of the carrots and beets out before the snow DURING 5 p.m. chores....
and it was this dark!
Youth Group progressive semi-formal dinner
Dressed for the semi formal dinner. Isn't Jonathan adorable?
I almost can't handle how much fun he is.
Moriah (the daughter of our host) and I fetched two of her chickens from the barn.
(The youth didn't know what they were going to have to wrap:)
Excellent job wrapping by both teams. However, the boy's team in the back won :)
