Two-Week Count Down

Setting the first few cupboards!! This cupboard is our sink base.
Jonathan is on the floor because he is trying to get the plumbing through our holes in the cupboard.
Hello again!

The last week has been one of unbelief. Painting the house, finishing the kitchen floor, installing the kitchen cupboards and doing “finish work” all in one week is both overwhelming and impossible in my mind. After seven months of working toward this goal, I guess I figured it would never happen :). In my brain, the kitchen IS a construction hole filled with dreams of “someday”…I should NOT walk into my house and see kitchen cupboards :) It is SO much fun to see it progressing and to be able to envision living in the house now that it seems more … livable.

If that isn’t weird enough, lest we properly adjust to the new changes, we are leaving the country in less than two weeks until April! I’m guessing the house progress is going to seem even weirder when we come back from Thailand because we won’t be here long enough to get used to it! With our departure approaching, we’re buckling down to get all of the last minute details in order before we leave. Jonathan is busy preparing the farm for his absence and I am making lists (and checking things off) like there is no tomorrow.

Approaching this pinnacle of our year and life together makes Proverbs 16:9 come alive to me. I can make my own plans, but I firmly believe that Christ orders my steps. A year ago, I could not have imagined that I would be sitting here today, blogging about my farm life with a crazy Thailand adventure fast approaching. I mean… seriously…. My life continually astounds me. I could not have guessed that any of this would happen… and I’m loving it! I could not have invented this story if I tried. Of all people… I wouldn’t have picked me for my life! Nonetheless, I trust His hand because He knows the course that is best for me.

Thanks for reading!
The Farmer/Adventurer/Missionaries,
Jonathan & Liz

Nephew Will (aka "little Will" vs. "big Will") helping Uncle Jonathan put in the cupboards.
"Little" Will was our garbage/packaging manager for the weekend.
Putting up the first wall cupboard! Jonathan and "big" Will
were doing chores so Cub and I provided the muscles.
Arric provided the brains... and more muscle :)
Done hanging! Still waiting for the doors...
TADA!!!!! LOOK AT IT!!!!!!!! Can you BELIEVE it? I can't!
The island is not attached and its position is still up for consideration.
Sister Bek and I scraped and sanded the kitchen woodwork in preparation for painting.
Many, many, many hours of sanding will hopefully pay off with beautiful kitchen woodwork!
Our FIRST hot water in the bathtub! This was a very exciting moment! Jonathan used it to clean out the dirty tub!
Our comic relief for the weekend.
We did many hours of work with Bennett singing his personal rendition "E-I-E-I-O" at the top of his lungs.
